Panda_Hungry • 2 yr. ago. I've had the same problem with HBO Max app on Apple TV for the past week or so, using ExpressVPN DNS service. Laptop (browser) with ExpressVPN also says that there is a problem connecting to HBO Max. I contacted ExpressVPN help desk but they said they hadn't heard any issues and couldn't provide any fix to the problem.
First, look at the green solution box. Next if you have an android based TV you can install the HBO MAX app on it, then use your Verizon credentials to login. HBO MAX does NOT exist on ANY cable boxes, it is solely accessed through an app that must be installed on a device of some kind, TV, Roku, Firestick, etc.
At least for now, as a temporary workaround, I was able to open the HBOMAX App on my Apple TV and sign in with my cable subscription with no problem. I was looking at the App history in the Samsung App Store and it looks like the HBOMAX App was last updated yesterday, 12/04/2020.
