Actually I feel the AF on my 7d mark ii is working fine. In fact all the concerns of the AF or IQ arise from my plan to buy a Sigma 35mm f1.4 Art lens in the near future. Because I heard some perple having front or back focus problems with those lens, so I just try to pratice how to test the AF performance of a lens.

Over the years I have bought and installed a variety of focus screen for the 5D, 5D2, 1D4 and 1Dx. Only one of about 8 screens did not have minor to significant back or front focus issues. The cause is tiny thickness difference in the new focus screen. These issues show themselves as OOF shots when the viewfinder is obviously in focus.

Been using my Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary with my Canon 5D Mk III, Mk iV and 7D Mk II for 4 years now with great results. My main goal for the body upgrade was to get the much improved (so I thought) AF system on the R5/R6 and better ISO performance.
