Four pets in total can accompany the ranger (two for fighting on land, two for aquatic), but only one pet will fight at a time. Ranger can switch pets during a fight. Pets have 4 skills; three shared by all pets in the same family of animals, one which is unique to that species of pet. Ranger can activate this unique skill.
Ancestral Grace. Druid is the elite specialization for ranger and has recently become an option to play as a support. Due to the changes made in the october balance patch ranger is a possible option but is not recommended playing over scrapper. The build is best described as a bursty condition cleanser with defensive and offensive capabilities.
An easier trade off (that would also keep the complexity of soulbeast) would be 1. No pet heal on merge, 2. Revert pet swap changes, and 3. Increase the cooldown for pet swap (and maybe pet skill cooldowns). 30s switch, 75s revive, 10% increase to pet cooldowns, with fine tuning for the spec to keep it from being too OP.Pets combat state changes to three state icon which will determine the max distance the pet will travel from the ranger. Blue Shield: Guard. This state will make the pet stay always close, at 300 range max. This is designed for supportive pets which the ranger sill want always as close as possible. Yellow sword: Stay close.
Posted August 6, 2022 (edited) -This is not only a big improvement in quality of life for rangers, its also a huge buff for the Untamed spec. -Now the pets will rotate their base skills while unleashed and will not be limited to AA only. -The Active F1-F3 while pet is unleashed are the Ranger's skills and not pet skills.
2.6k. Posted October 21, 2021. If the Mech will hit more reliably, has better targeting and better interactability than the pet on a ranger i will unironically be pissed on Anet. I am happy about the new engi spec but if their "Pet" will get the premium treatment over the actual "pet class" mechanic I will rant about it for the next 5 years.
